If the children are untaught, their ignorance and vices will in future life cost us much dearer in their consequences than it would have done in their correction by a good education.

Mr. Farrell Ackley has been teaching for 46 years, 37 of them at the Summit.   Mr. Ackley has a B.S. from Xavier University and a M.A. in History from the University of Dayton.  He is shown here with two of his favorite students, Michael Farrell Ackley and Erika Sofie Ackley.

Here is a picture of Mike's sister, Megan Ann Ackley, who is now six  years old.  Megan is a student at the Xavier Montessori program, where her mother Julie Kugler Ackley, Summit, class of '87, is a teacher.    Megan is shown after her dance performance at the Taft auditorium last spring.
Here is Josefine Klara, Erika's sister who recently turned six years old. The picture was taken this summer in Sweden where the family spent seven weeks with their mother's family.
Josefine has already begun to study history - probably in Swedish.

This is Isabelle Lynn Ackley( aka SiSi), - Miss California of 2025, now three years old, sister of Erika and Josephine .  She is exploring a winery near their home in San Jose.

Another member of the Ackley family is Ryan Christie.  Becky and Ryan were married in the Summit chapel, just as David and Julie were.

Mike and I went to see the Blue Angels practice one summer at Pensacola NAS.  Here is Mike in front the the Skyhawk version of the Blue Angels in the Naval Air Museum.

Here is a picture of my newest granddaughter - Emma Catherine Christie - born to my daughter Becky and her husband, Ryan, May 30th, 2007 in Chicago.  Emma weighed 8lbs, 8 oz and is Becky and Ryan's first. Here she on the weekend of the Chicago Air Show this summer.    Check out those blue eyes!
