3-Dimensional Chart

3D Chart Project for Vergil’s Aeneid (Similar to a poster, but called a chart-may be submitted to State and National Conventions under the name of Constructed Chart)
Required Checklist for 3D Poster Project (90% of total grade):
1. At least 10 ‘details from the episode’ must be represented visually on your poster
2. Poster board must be between 18” x 24” and 22” x 28” (Nationals Rules state 22x28 only)
3. Poster board must be thick/heavy to support attached materials - no ‘foam’ poster board is permitted b/c it is difficult to hang for display
4. Chart must include numerous items attached to the poster board - at least 5 different items must be used
5. *Not Permitted: -dolls of any sort (unless constructed from scratch for project) -store-bought action figures/army men/figurines of any sort -Lego materials or anything similar -food which will quickly rot
6. All items must be securely attached to the poster board -points will be deducted for items which are broken or fall off -remember, the poster will be hung up on a wall (not flat on a table)
7. Some suggestions for 3D items to attach to the poster board: cotton balls, sticks, rocks, pebbles, buttons, paper clips, dried pasta/beans, bits of fabric, string, rubber bands, toothpicks, marbles, etc
8. Do not have large plain areas on your poster - be creative and colorful
9. Colored markers/pencils must be used - no regular pencils permitted
10. Items from the Internet are NOT acceptable, Drawings must be your own work. You may use a word processor to type your text if you are unable to hand-letter neatly on your chart.
Overall Quality and Effectiveness (10% of total grade) -neatness/clarity -ability to tell the story visually -artistic merit & presentation -creativity/originality |
