Doll Project for Virgil's Aeneid This project may be submitted to State and National Conventions
Required Checklist for Doll Project (90% of total grade): Use this checklist when preparing your project!
1. At least 5 of the 10 ‘details from episode’ must be visually represented on doll - props/weapons/accessories will count as details
2. Project may include more than 1 doll -each doll will count as a separate detail -remember, quality is better than quantity - 1 excellent doll is better than 3 average dolls
3. The doll itself must be completely handmade from cloth or other fabric (no clay) -dolls cannot be ‘store bought’ or ‘from a kit’ -all dolls must be ‘student cut, student stitched, student stuffed’ -all seams must be stitched (not glued or pinned) - hand stitching is recommended, but machine stitching is permitted
4. Must be constructed with workmanship, neatness, and durability
5. All clothes/props/accessories/details must be firmly attached to doll (the attachments are a good way to indicate details) -pins and glue are permitted, but pts will be deducted for missing parts or parts which have fallen off -suggested materials for props/accessories/details include: buttons, yarn, beads, different textures of fabrics, etc.
6. All dolls must be at least 8 inches in height
