Illustrated Children's Book Project for Vergil's Aeneid

This project may be used for State and National Convention. 

 

Required Checklist for Multimedia Project (90% of total grade): 

 

1. The  project must have a sturdy cover (front and back) which is decorated in the theme of the story.

     You may purchase a pre-made book/scrapbook type book but you will still need to decorate it.  Don't buy something that can't be decorated. 

     For purposes of conventions, covers should be hand-done.  (See Ms. Ashcraft for more details). 

 

2. The maximum size of the book is 10"x12".

 

3. The story will be in English, although some Latin may be used.  Student must provide translations for any Latin used.

 

4. At least 10 ‘details from the episode’ must be represented within the book.  With prior permission, student may include other episodes.

 

5. Each page must contain visual elements as well as text.  These elements must be colorful and interesting. 

 

6. Text should be hand-lettered.

 

7. Care must be taken not to have misspelled words or incorrect grammar.  Student should run the entire text through spell/grammar check before printing it in the book. 

 

8. Images from the internet/copies from books are not allowed. 

 

9. Images/pictures may be drawn, painted, created from construction paper, etc., as long as it is done neatly.  Don't use pastels; they will smear. 

 

10.  The book must consist of at least 10 decorated sides/pages. That means 20 pages if you only do one side. 

 

11. Creativity is necessary for this project to be successful! 

 

12.  Caveat:  BEWARE OF PLAGIARISM!
