 Small/Large Model Project for Virgil’s Aeneid:  

Required Checklist for Model Project (90% of total grade): 

 

1. At least 10 ‘details from episode’ must be visually represented in your model

 

2.   Base of the model must be a sturdy, non-flexible material (e.g., wood) which is easily able to support your model

 

3. Entire models from paper/cardboard/shoebox material are not permitted

 

4. Clay-type material (such as ‘Model Magic’) may be used for figures or details,

                   but the entire model cannot be constructed from this material

 

5. Not Permitted:  -dolls of any sort (unless constructed from scratch for project)

                                      -store-bought action figures/army men/figurines of any sort

                                      -Lego materials or anything similar

 

6. Some suggestions for materials:

                   -chicken-wire covered with papier-mâché for structures/landscape

                   -decorated clothespins, thread spools, or clay for characters

                   -rocks, sticks, straw, pebbles, cotton balls, buttons, paper clips,

                             dried pasta/beans, bits of fabric, string, rubber bands,

                             toothpicks, marbles, etc

 

 7. All models must be durable, with all materials securely attached

                   - points will be deducted for missing/broken pieces

                   - remember, the model will be on display in Knights Hall for a week

 

 

Overall Quality and Effectiveness (10% of total grade)

 

-neatness/clarity                              -ability to tell the story visually

-artistic merit & presentation            -creativity/originality
