Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and The Summit

From its beginning, the essence of The Summit has been expressed as "the shared belief in the Christian value of the sanctity of the individual, the holiness of life, and the living presence of God within each person." The expression and realization of this essential mission is demonstrated through the spirituality of the students, faculty, staff, and families.

Developing and deepening a personal relationship with God is the focus of all spiritual formation programs that are conducted at The Summit. This relationship is best exemplified in the sacred values of compassion, concern for others, selflessness, generosity of heart, and acknowledgment of the divine.

Spiritual formation is vital for all students and faculty at The Summit. Since The Summit has a diverse student body with diverse beliefs, we must be conscious of incorporating other faith traditions into our community experiences. While always grounded in Catholicism and the charism of Saint Julie Billiart, our school’s foundress, it is our responsibility to offer and live in a spirit of ecumenism. The spiritual formation programs are supported and enhanced by the religion curriculum. Students receive religious education at every level of their Summit educational process.
