Unit #34 Possessives
Are you looking for a challenge again? Wow, you are just such a hardworker!!
Tonight, I challenge you to find one singular possessive noun and one plural
possessive noun in a newspaper, magazine, or book. Cut it out or copy it
down. I may use it as the bonus on the test tomorrow.
To form possessives of:
singular nouns, add an apostrophe and s;
plural nouns that end in s, add only an apostrophe

-ness
The suffixes - ment, -ness are great when creating nouns. The suffix -ness
is a particularly good ending to add when creating abstract nouns.

Adding -s and -es
Add -s to most words. Add -s to words ending in vowel and -y: monkey = monkeys. Words ending in a consonant and y, change the y to i and add - es: mystery = mysteries. Add -es to words ending in sh,ch,s,ss,x: beach=beaches, glass = glasses, tax = taxes
