Advanced WAH II and AP European History Extra Credit System
There is a bin in your on-line grades called the Extra Credit Bin. Depending on the level of effort in any extra credit work that you hand in or the length of a movie and level of attentiveness that you gave it, I assign a number of points and then add them to that bin. Those points are rigged not to be calculated into your overall quarter grade that you see on Basmati. They are just there so that you can see how many of them you have racked up at any given point. So at the end of the quarter you can trade in 10 points for .1 to be added to your quarter grade, 20 points for .2, 30 points for .3, 100 points for 1, 200 points for 2, and so on. If you are not close enough at the end of a quarter for those points to bump you to the next letter grade then they carry over into the next quarter. If you do at some point reach 400 points and, therefore, qualify for a 4 point bump in your grade then you have reached the limit of extra credit. No student may raise their grade more than 4 percentage points in a given quarter through extra credit.
