SOFTBALL ROCKS!
"Mistakes are only a problem if they
are the Varsity Softball 2009 At The Summit softball has been a long standing and all-American tradition for many years. There have been countless years of teams dominating the MVC and playing strong in the sectional and district of Southwest Ohio. Many alums recall softball as "the good times" of their Summit sports - great days in the sun (or rain), kicking up the dust on the diamond, spitting seeds in the dugouts and enjoying the fellowship of dedicated teams. Many of Summit's finest leaders have shared their skills and passions in the softball program. But the times have been changing, there is much to do, more sports, fewer spring athletes and the pressures of select sports - add that to the academic expectations - and fielding those softball teams has been difficult for several years now. Unfortunately, this year, for the first time, there were too few to make it happen - sad, but true. But, let traditions roll on - the Spring of 1010 will provide us a new opportunity - a chance to put the Summit Softball Knights back in action! WE NEED YOU..... The information below will provide you opportunities to practice and develop your skills. Most importantly find a friend and promise one another that you'll come out for the team next year, then help each other make it so! Let's bring a softball team back for the players - the alums - the coaches - and the FANS, because we know how important a good softball game is on a sunny spring day for anyone who is an All-American fan! GO KNIGHTS! ARE YOU INTERESTED IN IMPROVING YOUR GAME?
FOR LOCAL INFORMATION: Visit www.tournamentconsultants.com This is a wonderful local internet site with helpful information regarding out-of-season softball for local high school players. The site helps young women know how to train and play during the off season, and how to connect yourself with the “larger world of women’s fast pitch softball”. There is even an email link available. FOR COLLEGE CAMPS AND INFORMATION: Visit the website of any college that you are interested in and travel through athletics to women’s softball. Usually you find information about the team as well as information about camps and clinics the school offers. If you are interested in a particular college it is always a benefit to attend a sports camp there; meet the coaching staff and get a feel for the campus and community by living there for a few days. Any contact you have with a college through softball is one more person at that college that you know as you wind your way through the admissions process. FOR PERSONAL TRAINERS:
Many of you are Fall Athletes but for the couple who are not or for athletes intending to join the team next spring we strongly encourage you to play in a Fall League (use the web site listed above to get involved!).
