LET'S PRACTICE THESE FACTS!

,   ,

I really want to emphasize how important it is to know those addition and subtraction facts through 12.

Here are some of the games we will be playing to practice our facts:

GO FISH

Pick a sum with which you would like to work.  Write all the number pairs which equal that sum.  Pull those cards out of the deck and make a "pond".  Each player draws out four cards to play GO FISH.  A match is the two cards which equal that sum.

MEMORY

It's the same idea as GO FISH.  Just put the cards into rows instead of a pond.  Take turns turning over cards to make matches to that sum.

BINGO

Fold a paper until you have 16 squares.  Write 0 - 12 on the squares.  Fill in the extra squares with any of those numbers again.  Roll two dice.  Decide if you want to add or subtract and cover that number.  Use crayons to color in the square.  You could also use any small objects as markers so you can play a couple of times.  Do you really want to make it fun???  Use cereal or Smarties, Skittles, popcorn... and then eat your markers!

IT'S ALSO FUN TO MAKE UP YOUR OWN GAMES AND RULES!

KEEP PRACTICING THOSE FACTS!
