I
am Mrs. Moeggenberg, your teacher. I have always wanted to be a
teacher for as long as I can remember. It is probably because
I had really great teachers who taught me how to do great things. I
have always wanted to teach 5 year old children too. I think I chose
to do that because when I started college at Ohio State University,
I had a little brother who was five and I really liked teaching him
things. When I would come home from college, I would help his
teacher by going on field trips and helping her with activities in the
classroom. That was 25 years ago, and I still love teaching
children like you! (Can you figure out how old my brother is now?) |

I
have taught at Summit for 22 years. The children that I first
had as five year olds are have already graduated from college!. When I came to
Summit, I learned about a special person named Maria Montessori.
She wanted to help children learn too. The works that you do in
the classroom were from her ideas. I wanted to learn how to teach
like Maria Montessori, and so I went back to school to learn how to
teach like her in 1993. (picture

Besides being a teacher, I am also a wife
and a mom. I am married to Mr. Moeggenberg. We have two
daughters. Marie graduated from The Summit last year and is a
freshman at the College of Mount Saint Joseph. Rachel is a freshman this
year in the Summit Upper School.

We have one dog named Buster. Buster is a
golden retriever. He would
love to come to school with us but he knows that children sometimes
have allergies. So he is going to be our pet pen pal. Look

We are
going to have so much fun in our class learning about lots of wonderful
things. If you have something to share with us about the things we
are learning, don't hesitate to bring it in to tell us about it! |

Hello, I am Mrs. Sales and I have been
teaching at the Summit for 16 years. Mr. Sales and I have two
daughters; both are married and one just had a baby so I am a new grandma!
This year both my daughters are having a new baby so I will be a grandma
again! |

I have always loved reading
and writing, even when I was five years old. I wanted to be a teacher as long
as I can remember. That was not what I did right away ,
however. After having two other careers, I decided that I really
still wanted to be a teacher and came to Summit to begin doing what I
really love. |

Mrs. Moeggenberg and I have enjoyed
teaching Montessori Kindergarten together for 13 years
and each year we think we have the best class ever!! We are happy
to have each and every one of you in our class and we are going to work
hard to make your kindergarten year YOUR
BEST YEAR EVER!! |
