Policies: Students are expected to practice these virtues:
 | Respect: We are a community of learners who must treat each other
as important parts of a whole. We need each other to learn. |
 | Responsibility: As learners we must come prepared, take notes, meet
deadlines. No learning takes place if the teacher alone is working. You must
discuss, question, and turn in work on time. |
 | Courtesy: Civility is essential in polite society. I expect that
you address me and others politely in civil tones. I expect to hear the
words please and thank you. I expect questions to be
asked and answered politely. You can expect the same from me. |
 | Perseverance: Never give up! I expect your best effort. Each of you
is capable and worthy of commendable work. |
Grading Policy:
 | All work will receive some type of evaluation. This may be in the form of
points, letter grades, number grades, or comments. |
 | Quarter grades will be determined from vocabulary, reading quizzes,
notebooks, class participation and discussion, journal assignments, writing
assignments, and tests. |
Make Up Work:
 | See the handbook about absences for any reason. I will follow the
guidelines in the handbook |
 | If you are absent, it is your responsibility to see me immediately upon
your return. |
