Births

Mary Jesse (Price) Lyons ’06 and husband Brett Lyons had a baby girl on October 20, 2021, in Chicago. Her name is Dorothy “Dottie” Patrick Lyons.

Addie (Dowling) Dwyer ’09 and husband Daniel ’09 welcomed their third daughter, Rosemary Margaret, on June 5, 2021.

Tess (Eckstein) Eckhoff ’09 and husband Ben, gave birth to their daughter Charli in December 2020.

 

Weddings

Stephanie Wenzel ’10 married Adam Ficker on June 26, 2021, in Costa Rica with their family and friends by their side.

James Yuschik ’10 and Michele Nieberding ’09 were married on October 23, 2021 in Leesburg, Va.

Logan Eyer '11 and Amber Marchus were married on July 31, 2021, in Elizabeth, Colo. The wedding party included alumni Bradley Bedacht '10 as the best man, Sutton Eyer '18 (groosmen), and Hannah Eyer '12 (bridesmaid). 

Madeline Chandra ’12 was married on October 16, 2021, to Thomas Kolakowski.

Dr. Nina Kerr ’12 married Dr. Timothy Woodin, from Randolph, Vt., at the Gadsden House in Charleston, S.C. on September 12, 2021. Paula and Nat

Summit Friends Paula (Bien) Yarnell – Sundermann ’65 and Natalie (Verkamp) Schoeny ’65 attended the Hyde Park Art Show on Sunday, October 3, 2021. Rain or Shine nothing keeps them away! Paula had one first-place winner and two second-place winners. These were on display at the Hyde Park Library during the month of October. Hail To The Summit!

 

1980s

Walt McBride ’82, Rose Ann Fleming SNDdeN '50, Dan Fleming ’81 and Dexter Bailey ’80

On November 18, 2021, Walt McBride Jr. ’82, Rose Ann Fleming SNDdeN '50, Dan Fleming ’81 and Dexter Bailey ’80 gathered together at the Xavier University versus Ohio State University game.

Alissa Sammarco ’83 has recently become an Arbitrator of union disputes and is included on the Mediators List for the US District Court, Southern District of Ohio. She also represents individuals who have been wrongfully terminated from their job, or injured on the job or in car accidents, slip and falls or dog attacks.

Mike Schoeny ’89 is living in Raleigh, N.C. and works for Envestnet.

Paul Moran ’90 was recently selected to participate in Leadership Cincinnati Class 45.

Trish (O’Connor) Wiltshire ’94 is currently president of the Summit Parents Association (SPA).

Laura Janneck ’01 recently moved to Tulsa, Okla. from Boston, Mass. to work for the University of Oklahoma Department of Emergency Medicine developing health equity and social medicine programs.

Chris Koepfer ’01 joined the Summit's Alumni Board this fall.

Since September 2021, Jason P. Carreon Chua '02, MD, PhD has started a new position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. As part of this appointment, he is setting up a new laboratory focused on Parkinson's disease and the neurodevelopmental disorder, BPAN. His research is supported by funding from Johns Hopkins, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Don't Forget Morgan Foundation. To highlight recent progress in his research, his latest manuscript was posted on bioRxv this past summer, and he was invited to give a talk at the Emerging Scholars Lecture series during the American Neurological Association annual meeting in October 2021, earning a Best Presentation award for his lecture session. Jason also sees patients with Parkinson disease, atypical parkinsonism, and neurogenetic disorders at the Johns Hopkins Movement Disorders Clinic in Baltimore, Md.

Chloe Goodhart ’08 is a published author. She has two baby board books available for preordering on almost all websites that offer book sales.

Ali Kathman ’08 was featured in a WCPO article, “Why Hamilton County government's new paid parental leave policy is a big deal,” regarding her work at Hamilton County Public Health.

 

2010s

Alexandra Rohrig ’10 got engaged recently to John Wannemacher.

Stephanie Wenzel ’10 will graduate from Auburn University’s Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in May 2021.

Lauren Meister ’11 Started a new job at MCA Architecture this summer as a designer in Baltimore Md., working on civic and cultural projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. She moved after she graduated with her Master of Architecture degree with a Certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Cincinnati DAAP program.

R. Carter Fee ’17 was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in May 2021.

Caroline Karbowski ’18 won the 2021 Next Generation Innovators of the Year award at The Ohio State University. This prestigious award "recognizes innovation and entrepreneurship that has contributed to the development or commercialization of a new technology." Caroline has also gone on to found See3D Inc, a 501(c)3 whose mission is to provide 3D printed models for blind students for educational purposes.
