The Summit Country Day boys soccer team captured its second straight Division V state championship Monday, November 10 defeating Toledo Ottawa Hills 5-1 at Historic Crew Stadium. The girls team captured their third straight on Friday, shutting out Columbus Academy 4-0. The Division IV title was the cherry on top of their undefeated season.

“It's a great way to end your career,” Johnny Bacca '26 told the Enquirer after the boys' win. “I got emotional at the awards ceremony because being with these guys and this team just means something to you. I'm just happy I got to play my high school years with this program because I'm going to leave here a better person and a better soccer player, and that means the world to me.”
Mia Stevens '26 ended her Summit soccer career making school history. She had two goals and an assist in the state match, ending her high school soccer career with 72 goals and 42 assists, surpassing the school record set in 2019.
When asked about Stevens, Coach Mike Fee told the Enquirer, "She is one of the hardest working players on the team, and when you have your most talented player work as hard as she does, that pays dividends for the rest of the team."
Both teams were welcomed back from states to the cheers of their classmates, faculty, staff and members of The Summit community. The teams presented their trophies to Head of School Kelley Schiess.
