Seventh graders at this year's Bystander to Upstander Youth Leadership Conference

The Jacob G. Schmiddlapp Bystander to Upstander Youth Leadership Day at The Holocaust and Humanity Center took place on March 7, 2023. The conference is designed to ensure that the lessons of the Holocaust inspire action today; students in grades 7 and 8 from all over the tristate came together to explore how one person can make a difference. Four Summit seventh grade candidates were selected to represent the school. Students had a tour of the museum, participated in sessions on activating strengths to be a leader, and began to create an action plan to enact positive change.
