Families enjoyed a pancake breakfast before diving into a dynamic program featuring keynote speaker Travis Steele, Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Miami University - and a Summit parent. Coach Steele inspired attendees with stories of resilience, teamwork, and the life lessons learned through athletics.

"Knowing thyself is one of the biggest rules in life," said Coach Steele. "All of us have strengths. All of us have weaknesses.” Athletics can help individuals accept their role as part of something bigger than self while supporting and elevating others. He also shared how young athletes and students should approach challenges, noting that struggling is a natural and important part of learning and improving. "You can control your process; you can’t always control the result. Struggles are a part of growth.”

Parents participated in interactive sessions on topics such as:

  • The Psychology of Performance and Confidence

  • Parenting for Purpose in Athletics

  • Fueling Character: Nutrition and Wellness

  • Balancing Club and School Sports

Meanwhile, students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 enjoyed mini sports clinics designed to foster teamwork and confidence.

This event marks the beginning of an exciting tradition at The Summit, one that celebrates our mission to educate and form leaders of character. Thank you to all who joined us for this special day! A gallery of the days' events can be viewed here.
