Latin Student Earns National Award for Top Test Score

Ana Leyendecker '23 was recognized as a National Award recipient from Classic Learning Initiatives for her top score on the Classic Learning Test (CLT) which she took as a sophomore.

"I just wanted to thank you for Ana’s education at The Summit," says her father, John. "Ana was one of the top 50 scores in the country and was awarded a $2,500 scholarship at any CLT partner college. It is a great accomplishment and a credit to what you all are doing at The Summit!"

The Summit offers classical language instruction beginning in Grade 6. Ana's Latin teacher, Larry Dean, was notified of her award and said, "The old adage is true: labor omnia vincit!" which is Latin for "Work conquers all."

Classic Learning Initiatives was founded in 2015 to provide alternative standardized tests. Featuring passages selected from great works across a variety of disciplines, the tests provide a highly accurate and rigorous measure of reasoning, aptitude and academic formation for students from diverse educational backgrounds.
