Student artwork on exhibit at Columbus College of Art and Design

Five student artists at The Summit Country Day School were selected for the Emerging Artists High School Exhibition, Oct. 4 through Nov. 7 at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus.

Danny Bohmer, Siena Cutforth, Mia Rahner, Maya Wood and Tony Zhang submitted work that was evaluated by a jury of art critics and educators. Their selection for exhibit was based on criteria such as quality and craftsmanship, aesthetic appeal and originality.

After the Emerging Artists High School Exhibition closes on Nov. 7, the works can be viewed online at ohioarted.com. The exhibit is sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association, a professional organization for art teachers in Ohio.

The students’ teacher at The Summit, Carrie Barnett, was recently named Ohio’s 2021 Art Educator of the Year by the Ohio Art Education Association.
