Summit Country Day School Head of School Rich Wilson today announced the appointment of Tami McMann as the Hyde Park school’s new Communications Director, concluding a nationwide search.

Effective Jan. 25, Ms. McMann will become a member of The Summit’s Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for media relations, parent communications, brand management, the school website, social media marketing, the school magazine and other publications. She will succeed Nancy Berlier who is retiring.

“The application pool for this position was voluminous with many outstanding candidates,” Mr. Wilson said. “Among all these applicants, Tami stood out. Her skills and experience perfectly matched our requirements. She will be an asset to our school in promoting why Summit is the obvious choice for parents looking for rigorous academics; character/faith formation; a close knit, nurturing community and boundless opportunities for a child to shine.”

Ms. McMann comes to The Summit from Graland Country Day School in Denver, Colo., where she has been the associate director of communications. A key member of Graland’s communications and marketing department, she worked closely with the development office, admission office and the parent association to build community engagement and brand awareness. As the primary writer and editor on her team, she was also responsible for developing all the school's publications, social media content and media relations efforts, securing local and national news coverage for the school. In 2015, she earned a graduate certificate in organizational and professional communications from the University of Denver. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in public relations and minor in English.

Mrs. Berlier began working at The Summit in 2010 as a freelance consultant and was hired in 2011 to run communications operations. She will provide guidance in the transition as Ms. McMann becomes acclimated to her new role.
