Summit artists bring creativity to local competition

The Cincinnati Art Club (CAC) has announced the winners of its 2023 High School Plein Air competition, and two Summit students took home some of the top prizes.

The event brought together talented high school students from the Cincinnati area who demonstrated their artistic skills and creativity in an outdoor setting, working "en plein air" using provided materials to capture the essence of a chosen location.

The submitted artworks were evaluated by a panel of recognized professional artists affiliated with the CAC, resulting in the selection of exceptional talent. The competition awarded four prizes and a special Artist's Choice Award:

  • 1st Place - $500 prize and trophy for school: Addie Johnson '24

  • CAC Artist's Choice Award - $50 prize: Daisy Doran '25

Winning art pieces will be prominently displayed at the Cincinnati Art Museum's Education Center, providing an opportunity for the public to appreciate the remarkable talent of these young artists. All art enthusiasts and supporters are cordially invited to attend the art transfer and dedication event on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Cincinnati Art Museum, Education Center (953 Eden Park Dr.). The art transfer will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a dedication and pictures at 4 p.m.
