The Summit Country Day School continues to rise as a leader in high school athletics across the state of Ohio. In a recent USA Today-reported ranking based on a Niche study, The Summit earned the distinction of being named the #16 best high school for athletes in Ohio.
The rankings consider a variety of factors, including student and parent reviews, number of state championships, athletic participation, and the breadth of sports offerings. With 24 sports available, Summit stands among a competitive group of schools statewide, reflecting our commitment to providing diverse and meaningful opportunities for all students.
This recognition highlights not only our long-standing success, but also the continued growth of Summit Athletics. Our student-athletes consistently demonstrate excellence—balancing competition, teamwork, and character both on and off the field.

As part of our commitment to wellness and innovation, The Summit is proud to be expanding its athletic offerings with the addition of squash and girls’ flag football, after piloting these programs this winter and spring. These new programs reflect our goal of meeting the evolving interests of our students while creating more opportunities for participation, skill development, and competitive play.
-
Girls Flag Football adds an exciting and fast-growing sport, opening doors for more young women to engage in teamwork and competition.
-
Squash brings a dynamic, global sport to Summit, enhancing our already diverse athletics portfolio.
While being named a top 20 athletic program in Ohio is an honor, what matters is the approach The Summit takes to athletics, where it's more than wins and rankings; it’s about building confidence, resilience, and lifelong connections.
