Congratulations to our girls’ team for finishing third in the Miami Valley Conference (MVC) and breaking six of nine records kept on the records board:

  • The records for high single team game (774), high dual match total (2129), high individual Baker game (238), high four Baker game set (660), high six Baker game set (908) were set by a combination of sophomores, Shannon Dennemann, Kennedi Dukes, Angela Good, Mia Rahner and Kiarah Tapplar, and juniors, Erin Johnson and Lavinia Ward. Rounding out the team were sophomores Rimel Kamran and Sunny Tan.

Kennedi was named to the MVC First Team, Erin Johnson and Shannon Dennemann to the Second Team, and Kiarah Tapplar and Mia Rahner received Honorable Mention honors. Coach Ed Escudero was also named MVC Girls’ Bowling Coach of the Year!

Boys’ Team

The boys’ bowling team also placed third in the MVC. The team had three seniors, Colin Altmix, Holden Barnhorst, Jack Stewart and Zach Watford. They were joined by sophomores Joseph Federle, Wali Kahn, Oliver Lyon, Sam Parker and Eli Sparks, and freshmen Cole Hiller, Ethan Lam and Kyle Lauckner. Receiving MVC honors were: Second Team – Colin Altmix and Honorable Mention Eli Sparks and Jack Stewart.

Bowling is unique among high school sports because each match consists of an individual and a team component. Each of five bowlers bowl two individual games. The individual games are followed by four Baker games, or team games, in a normal match. Each bowler bowls two of the ten frames in the game and the winner of the match is the team with the highest pin total -- the sum of the individual games and the Baker games.
