Summit sophomore selected for Regional Youth Leadership class

Rimel Kamran, a sophomore at The Summit Country Day School, has been selected for the 2022 Regional Youth Leadership (RYL) class by The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. She joins a group of 45 other rising juniors.

The program will require students to participate one day a month for eight months of the 2021-22 school year. Students will collaborate with local business and civic leaders to identify, develop, refine and practice leadership skills to “become catalysts for change.”

Arts and culture, criminal justice, local government and economic development and health are the topics that will be explored during the program.

Students were selected through an extensive application process that included a minimum 3.0 GPA, a demonstration of leadership potential and approval from their high school principal or guidance counselor.

Juniors Savannah Brizendine and Nick Jacob were a part of the program this year.
