Summit swimmers will compete at state
five swim team members with their coaches

Summit students gathered Tuesday for what has become a traditional sendoff for athletic teams going to state competition after five swimmers qualified for state this weekend with record-setting performances. 

Students gathered in Flannery Gym for a spirit rally and ended by forming a tunnel through which the swimmers ran. 

Competing will be: 

Freshman Bella Zaring in the 50 freestyle & 100 freestyle. 

Senior Abby Replogle in the 100 backstroke. 

Sophomore Caroline Mulvihill in the 500 freestyle. 

Senior Lily Mitchell in the 200 IM & 100 breaststroke. 

Also, competing in the 200 medley relay will be Abby Replogle, Lily Mitchell, Bella Zaring and Anneliese Brouwer. In the 400 freestyle relay will be Abby Replogle, Lily Mitchell, Anneliese Brouwer and Bella Zaring. 

The 400 Relay team broke the school record at districts and Bella Zaring broke the school record for the 500 freestyle. Overall, the team finished fourth at district. 

Summit’s Swim and Diving teams are coached by Susan and Bret Miller. The swimming and diving state tournament preliminary will be Thursday at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.
