Lower School

Challenging Every Child

Children in grades 1-4 thrive in an experiential environment designed to leverage their natural curiosity and joy of learning. Empowered problem solvers and collaborators are encouraged to think big, synthesize and test ideas and celebrate the learning process.  Academics integrated with movement, fine arts, character- based leadership and faith formation are woven together into a seamless experience of personalized growth.

Experience The Summit

As an independent school, we continue our founding traditions as a Notre Dame community. The heart of our mission is to educate leaders of character who will value and improve the world they inherit. Here in a warm, inclusive culture, every child is known, their God-given talents are valued and relationships flourish.

Leaders of Character

MISSION CHALLENGES ALL TO BE PEACEMAKERS, CHANGEMAKERS

Leaders of Character

Mission challenges all to be peacemakers, changemakers.

CROSS-DIVISIONAL APPROACH

Our Leaders of Character program is embedded throughout the school and focuses on three behaviors that contribute to personal development: Serves God, Builds Community, Grows Self.

SERVES GOD

As leaders of character rooted in the tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, we demonstrate that God is good by taking time to grow in our faith, pray and reflect; giving thanks and giving back; modeling integrity; and prioritizing the common good.

BUILDS COMMUNITY

As leaders of character, we create community among those with whom we work and serve by being considerate, honoring the dignity and sacredness of each person, seeking to include others, cooperating with each other and clearly articulating ourselves.

GROWS SELF

At The Summit, we educate for life and understand that leaders of character seek continued growth, which entails knowing ourselves and our God-given gifts, taking responsibility for our words and actions, managing our time and our stress, opening ourselves up to new ideas, learning from our mistakes and embracing the creative process.
