Rolling Admission: Program Options for Children by Age

We offer the following varieties: half-day, full-day and multi-day, academic and enrichment options in our Toddler Program for 18- to 36-month-olds, 3- to 6-year-old Preschool-Kindergarten children as well as extended day options.

18- to 36-month-old Toddlers

3- to 6-year-olds

All children attending the Montessori Program for 3- to 6-year-olds receive the Academic Program, which is a half-day experience in a classroom comprised of multi-aged children. The academic emphasis is on math, language, sensorial, practical life and geography and science. Orff music and gym are offered in the academic program.

The all-day option for 3- to 6-year-olds includes both the Academic and Enrichment programs. The Summit's Signature Early Enrichment Program for 3- and 4-year-olds includes exposure to two World Languages two times per week. A mid-day rest period is also required. The Summit’s Signature Advanced Enrichment for 5- to 6-year-olds (Kindergarten) includes year-long instruction of a World Language of choice. See curriculum guide for units of study and program highlights for both Enrichment options.

Our Extended Day Center provides care for children beginning at age 3 from 7-7:45 a.m. before school starts and from 3:15 to 6 p.m. after school ends -- on days that school is in session. The center is used by many busy parents needing supervision of their children when school is not in session, but they want more than just babysitting. This time with the children is designed to truly be an extension of the school day. The activities are fun, yet will encourage each child’s development.

Next Steps for Enrollment in 3- to 6-year-old candidates

What is a Parent Information Session and Montessori Interview Session?

Visiting children applying to the 3- to 6-year-old program have a delightful experience in a Montessori academic classroom while parents receive a program overview. A master degree teacher will spend quality time with your child, assessing general areas such as numbers, shapes, letters, colors and simple dialoguing. This session offers a comfortable and effective way for our faculty to observe applicants in our materials-rich classrooms where children are encouraged to gravitate to areas of the room that are of interest.
