As a Summit lifer, my Summit story begins way back in Montessori. My parents, committed to providing the best possible foundation for their children to grow, found the Summit begin that work. There are too many faculty & staff that changed the course of my life to name, but I routinely say that I use more of the tools I gained at the Summit each day than at any other level of my education. I'm proud to now be the parent of two Summit students in the hopes they build that same foundation.

"The Summit legacy runs rich in our family. I started at Summit in kindergarten like many of my other family members, and went through eighth grade. I am grateful for my Summit education because it gave me the tools to be a leader of character, cherish the arts and be service-oriented. Staying involved with The Summit was important to me and that’s why my children attend Summit, and I support the school."

"The thing that stands out the most to me about Summit is the community, not only while in school, but afterwards. There is a shared bond that I have observed while meeting other alumni not on here locally, but around the world. The Summit education prepared me for the rest of my life, and I am thankful for the lessons learned while a student.

"Throughout my years as a lifer at the Summit, one of the best lessons I learned was about the importance of community. The Summit community has provided me with philanthropic and educational opportunities that have exceeded my high school graduation day. I greatly cherish my relationships with my Summit friends and peers, and am honored and excited to be a part of the community again through the Summit Alumni Board!"

“I had a wonderful experience at The Summit from 1990 - 1994. The independent, college preparatory approach helped prepare me for, not just college, but life - both professionally and personally. I can thank The Summit for encouraging me to go into Advertising/Marketing. SCD brought in local business professionals including Mary Beth Price from what is now Empower media marketing. I fell in love with the field and so, majored in Advertising at one of the country's top communications colleges. I’ve been involved as an alum by helping to plan reunions, and now I’d like to take that commitment a little bit deeper and give back to the school.”

"I was a lifer at Summit, starting in the pre-school program at the age of 4 and continuing on through graduating from the Upper School. The Summit has always been a huge part of my life, with two sisters who attended and one sister still in the Upper School. The school gave me so many opportunities throughout the years and I look forward to giving back. After living in Boston for 12 years, my husband, Sam, and I recently moved back to Cincinnati. I believe strongly in the mission of the Summit and am looking forward to continuing my involvement with the Summit on the Alumni Board."

"I'm a summit lifer (graduating in 2005) and a third-generation summit graduate. The legacy continues, as my two daughters are currently attending the Summit Montessori. Serving on the Alumni Board is such an exciting opportunity to re-engage with the institution that helped me grow to be the person I am today. I'm delighted to be part of this amazing community once again."

I am a second-generation Summit graduate. Now, I proudly see my legacy continue as my two grandchildren attend the Montessori School as fourth-generation students. I have volunteered in many capacities through my time with Summit, and I am looking forward to continuing my involvement as an Alumni Board member. The Summit has always set itself apart from other institutions because of its religious and holistic approach to education. In addition, I am always impressed by The Summit’s robust community outreach. It instilled in me the importance of being a part of something beyond my circle and giving back to others in the community.

I was the first person in my family to attend The Summit, and I knew of the school's elite reputation. I attended Montessori and then returned for my Upper School years. The community was a place where I excelled spiritually, academically, and emotionally. The direction from faculty helped me become a well-rounded person, fully prepared for college and beyond. I was thrilled when my twin daughters chose to make Summit their home for high school. They, too, had a first-class experience!

I'm grateful for the opportunity to re-engage with this special community as my daughters are enrolled in the Montessori program -- as 4th generation Summit students. The education, faculty and spiritual foundation of the school are best-in-class and I'm excited to contribute in building a strong, engaged community and alumni network.

The Summit has been a key fixture in my life for nearly 30 years. I attended as an Amelia Hamberg Foss '24 Scholar, and my brother, Jeff Roth '02, attended as a Fragge Scholar. My oldest child, Russell (2031), began attending as a 3-year-old in 2016, followed by Corrina and Jack. They are now in 6th, 4th, and 1st grades, and are thriving here in a place I love and respect. I began attending The Summit as a freshman and was always very impressed (and quite frankly a little intimidated) by the breadth and depth of knowledge that Summit "Lifers" displayed. My wife Jackie and I feel beyond blessed that our children are the recipients for such an education. I also feel blessed to now be part of The Summit staff.
I am heavily involved with coaching all three children in various sports, and serve on the Pastoral Advisory Board for my family of Catholic parishes, representing St. John the Evangelist in West Chester. I also serve with the Knights of Columbus, and am involved in both Cub and Boy Scouts. I truly look forward to serving on The Summit Alumni Board!

As a third-generation Summit lifer, my family has an extensive connection to this community. The Summit provided me with authentic opportunities to develop not only lifelong skills, but also lifelong friendships. I am grateful for the time I spent here and am thrilled to see the legacy continue with my two children currently attending Summit’s Montessori. As a member of the Summit Alumni Board, I am excited to give back to this community in a meaningful way.
