I started Summit in the 7th grade, likely one of the most challenging times for a young girl. New school, uniform, meeting new friends, it was all quite overwhelming. However, the teachers welcomed me and helped me to adjust and I made friendships that continue to this day. High school again provided challenges, but the teachers and counselors helped me to adjust to the rigors of classes, school clubs, field hockey and track. They definitely prepared me for college and beyond. The education, skill development and training were instrumental to my success. I knew that my daughters would attend Summit once we returned to Cincinnati as it was the best choice to develop and educate them for the future.

“Being at Summit was the first time I was surrounded by teachers who genuinely cared if I was actually learning. My teachers not only cared about my academic growth but wholly cared about my personal growth and development. The Summit faculty pushed me, they expected the best from me and Summit gave me all of the skills and tools to blow college out of the water. I was not the smartest kid at Summit, but I stopped feeling so far behind. Summit was a nurturing environment for me. There was a point where I began to struggle with some personal issues, and people like Ms. Sansalone and Mrs. Sue Kelly who were there for me cared for me and listened to me. I owe much of my success to the Summit community, and that is why I believe it is so important to give back to a place that gave me so much. I want to be on the Alumni Board to demonstrate my support and commitment to the Summit community. I hope to achieve stronger relationships with other Summit graduates and want to work with the Alumni Board to explore new ways to appeal to, communicate with, engage, and involve alumni who have not been as active with the Summit community.

"I am a Summit lifer. I started full day Kindergarten in 1975. I believe the faith-based education and rigorous academics through all those years provided me with a very solid foundation for success both in business and in my community."

"The Summit legacy runs rich in our family. I started at Summit in kindergarten like many of my other family members, and went through eighth grade. I am grateful for my Summit education because it gave me the tools to be a leader of character, cherish the arts and be service-oriented. Staying involved with The Summit was important to me and that’s why my children attend Summit, and I support the school."

"The thing that stands out the most to me about Summit is the community, not only while in school, but afterwards. There is a shared bond that I have observed while meeting other alumni not on here locally, but around the world. The Summit education prepared me for the rest of my life, and I am thankful for the lessons learned while a student.

"I started as a Montessori student in 1981 and spent 9 great years at the Summit. My "Summit Story" is about the benefits and impact that a stellar childhood education can have on the American dream. My parents were recent immigrants to the United States and enrolled me at Summit because of the school's reputation for being the leading educator of children in Cincinnati and a place that nurtures future leaders with a moral compass.
While I attended the Summit, I had the privilege of being taught by incredible educators including the late Jane Durkee & Cathy Burik, as well as wonderful teachers like Barbara Sander, Bruce Bowden, Pat Hayes, Mark Wiesner & Kathy Ryan, amongst many others. Thanks to the foundation established by those fine men and women, I have had the honor of attending some of the finest universities in the world, working on Wall Street & in Silicon Valley, and serving as an advisor to multiple elected representatives in Congress.
Thanks to the great educators and community environment of the Summit, this son of 3rd world immigrants was equally well prepared to study at Ivy League universities, lead multi-billion dollar corporate transactions, work with members of Congress, or just play a game of cornhole on the West Side."

“I had a wonderful experience at The Summit from 1990 - 1994. The independent, college preparatory approach helped prepare me for, not just college, but life - both professionally and personally. I can thank The Summit for encouraging me to go into Advertising/Marketing. SCD brought in local business professionals including Mary Beth Price from what is now Empower media marketing. I fell in love with the field and so, majored in Advertising at one of the country's top communications colleges. I’ve been involved as an alum by helping to plan reunions, and now I’d like to take that commitment a little bit deeper and give back to the school.”

"I started attending Summit in high school. With lots of great Catholic high school options in the Cincinnati area, I was drawn to Summit because of its rigorous academics, small class sizes and impressive athletic programs. Throughout my Summit career, I was well prepared for college academically and had the opportunity to develop leadership skills through extracurricular activities like the Leadership Scholars, the Great Youth Debate and basketball. I look forward to connecting students with Summit's vast alumni network."

"Proud father of a fourth generation Silver Knight. My Summit connection extends well beyond the time I spent here. My family has been rooted in the school for over 60 years, and I’m honored to continue that tradition. The Summit gave me the tools to build character, faith and friendships. I was challenged academically and personally to grow as part of the larger community. The many friendships that I formed here endure today. Now, my daughter is classmates with many kids of my Summit friends, hopefully creating the same life-long bonds that define my Summit Story."

"I was a lifer at Summit, starting in the pre-school program at the age of 4 and continuing on through graduating from the Upper School. The Summit has always been a huge part of my life, with two sisters who attended and one sister still in the Upper School. The school gave me so many opportunities throughout the years and I look forward to giving back. After living in Boston for 12 years, my husband, Sam, and I recently moved back to Cincinnati. I believe strongly in the mission of the Summit and am looking forward to continuing my involvement with the Summit on the Alumni Board."

"I came to Summit as a freshman and fell in love with everything about it. The relational, familial atmosphere makes everyone feel like they are a functional part of a supportive and warm community. As a Summit lifer I cherish my time at the Summit. I value the school's commitment to raising leaders who understand the importance of service. The phenomenal faculty combined with a dedicated community are at the heart of what make the Summit such a great institution. I am a second-generation Summit graduate. Now, I proudly see my legacy continue as my two grandchildren attend the Montessori School as fourth-generation students. I have volunteered in many capacities through my time with Summit, and I am looking forward to continuing my involvement as an Alumni Board member. The Summit has always set itself apart from other institutions because of its religious and holistic approach to education. In addition, I am always impressed by The Summit’s robust community outreach. It instilled in me the importance of being a part of something beyond my circle and giving back to others in the community.

As a Summit lifer, I am the proud mom of two daughters who are third-generation Summit students, and I am married to a Summit alum. My Summit education provided an excellent foundation for future achievement. I am grateful that my children have the opportunity to experience the same excellent faculty, supportive community, and commitment to character education.

I was the first person in my family to attend The Summit, and I knew of the school's elite reputation. I attended Montessori and then returned for my Upper School years. The community was a place where I excelled spiritually, academically, and emotionally. The direction from faculty helped me become a well-rounded person, fully prepared for college and beyond. I was thrilled when my twin daughters chose to make Summit their home for high school. They, too, had a first-class experience!

As a Summit lifer, my Summit story begins way back in Montessori. My parents, committed to providing the best possible foundation for their children to grow, found the Summit begin that work. There are too many faculty & staff that changed the course of my life to name, but I routinely say that I use more of the tools I gained at the Summit each day than at any other level of my education. I'm proud to now be the parent of two Summit students in the hopes they build that same foundation.
