Legacy Admission

We are very interested in reaching out to our alumni and enhancing communication with future Summit generations. We look forward to becoming more connected with you. At this time, The Summit is pleased to share exciting legacy admission opportunities with you.

Alumni Fee Waiver

The Summit Admission Office offers an application Alumni Fee Waiver for a member of your family or a prospective family that you feel would benefit from a Summit education. In using this, the application fee will be waived for the applicant seeking admission. We hope you will use this application fee waiver for a member of your family and encourage you to spread the word about The Summit to prospective students. With your recommendation, the Admission Office will waive the application fee for a legacy or for a prospective student who you feel would be a great fit for your alma mater.

Aspire Family Plan

As the cost of financing a private school education continues to increase, many parents with young children are concerned about applying to an independent school. The Summit understands this concern and has approved a new affordability initiative: The Aspire Family Plan, for families in Kindergarten through grade eight beginning in the 2015-16 school year. At the heart of this initiative is our mission as a family school and the need to continue to provide access to middle-income families. Our alumni will receive special consideration. Please contact Kelley Schiess, Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management and Special Projects, at 871-4700, ext. 207 or via email for additional information about the Aspire Family Plan for alumni.

Legacy Scholarship

The Summit is pleased to offer a Lower/Middle School Legacy Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to  students for the 2016 school year. The Legacy Scholarship was established by the Schilderink family for the children of alumni. Priority consideration will be given to students in grades one through six. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate the ability to succeed in the classroom and contribute positively to student life. The student’s family must demonstrate need for financial assistance and complete the Parent's Financial Statement through the National Association of Independent Schools at https://sssbynais.org/parents/. Legacy Scholarships are renewable through grade six. Families who are interested in applying for the Legacy Scholarship should contact Kelley Schiess, Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management and Special Projects, at 871-4700, ext. 207 or via email

Alumni Scholarship

The Summit Alumni Association offers two Alumni Scholarships for Upper School students.  The next available Alumni Scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman for the 2015 school year. From the time of the school’s inception, academic excellence, Christian service, artistic creativity, physical activity, and social interaction have been the cornerstones of a Summit education. The Alumni Scholarship recognizes students who value these characteristics and exemplify them both inside and outside of the classroom. Families who are interested in applying for the Alumni Scholarship should contact Kelley Schiess, Assistant Head of School for Enrollment Management and Special Projects, at 871-4700, ext. 207 or via email.

Legacy Visitation Days

The Summit welcomes legacy candidates to campus and has special admission events and visitation days set aside for the children of alumni. A Legacy and Sibling reception is hosted by the Admission and Alumni Offices for Upper School candidates in November prior to the Open House. In addition, the Admission Office hosts a variety of Parent Preview Days and shadow days for students.

See our Key Dates for additional information. Personal tours for legacy families are available by appointment. Please contact us at 871-4700, ext. 261 to schedule your visit.
