Seasoned coaches, competitive training deliver high performance

The Summit Country Day Baseball team plays a full 27-game schedule in the Miami Valley Conference (MVC) every year following a competitive spring training schedule at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando. The team also participates in the A.J. Cohen Memorial Baseball Tournament.

Led by Triffon Callos, who has been Baseball Head Coach since the 2007-08 season and with the program since the 2004-2005 season, the program has a history of all-state, all-city, all-league, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and other recognitions. The team was state-runner up in 2015.See a history of player and team accomplishments here.

The program also has been successful placing athletes on college teams. Among them: Brennan Gick '18, Northern Kentucky University; Connor McMurry ’17, Case Western Reserve University; Mark Peterson ’15, University of Dallas; Eric Terry ’15, Emory University; Doug Compton ’14, DePauw University; Tommy Crowl '13, Marietta College; Michael Jaeger ’13, Thomas More College; Jack Meininger ’13, Mount St. Joseph University; Gabe Scott ’12, George Washington University; Jack Gustafson ’11, St. Thomas University

The team plays on a state-of-the art baseball field where high-performance artificial turf and an advanced underlayment system delivers a truer bounce of the ball, cooler surface temperatures and less likelihood of rain-outs. The home field is located on Ehrling Road off Interstate 71 near Red Bank Road.

Coach Callos was named 2009, 2010, 2016 and 2018 MVC Division “Coach of the Year.” Read Coach Callos' full bio here.
