Boys' Soccer
Powerhouse Program Creates a Dynasty
The boys’ varsity soccer team has won six state championships since the first one in 1999. The Silver Knights’ aspirations every November are to win the state title and hoist the trophy.
Team objectives include scheduling robust opponents from all divisions and excelling in the Miami Valley Conference, but the primary focus is winning “the right way.” That means having a team full of student-athletes who excel in the classroom and embody school principles.
“Putting on the jersey means something. It means that you are committed to accepting the standards of high character, high effort, competition and what it means to be a student-athlete,” Coach Scott Sievering said. “I want good people on our team that can play soccer. I don’t want soccer to be the only thing the person brings.”
Scott Sievering has been the Head Coach of The Summit boys’ soccer program since 2014-15. During his tenure, he’s coached the Silver Knights to state championships in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Prior to arriving at The Summit, he served as the boys’ varsity soccer coach at Sycamore High School. In his 10 seasons with the Aviators, coach Sievering compiled a 105-46-34 record. He is also a long-time club coach and serves as the Boys Director of Coaching for Ohio Elite Soccer Academy. He was a state champion in track at LaSalle High School and a NCAA Division I cross country standout at the University of Cincinnati. He holds a U.S. Soccer Federation National B License and is working toward a National A License. He is assisted by Craig Chmiel, BJ Smallwood and Scott Mays.
