Senior Summit CDS golfer wins All-Ohio Academic Award

Chris Kahle

Chris Kahle, a senior at The Summit Country Day School, has earned an All Ohio Academic Award from the Ohio High School Golf Coaches Association (OHGCA).

Each golfer who receives this award must be a varsity golfer and have a cumulative 3.5 average grade point average or better. And his or her coach has to be a member of the OHGCA.

“Chris is a gifted and dedicated student athlete who balanced the time commitment of varsity golf with a high-level academic schedule,” said Boys’ Golf Head Coach Tim Jedding, who also teaches social studies and leadership in The Summit’s Upper School. “More importantly, Chris exhibited the honor and qualities of a gentleman on and off the golf course. He will be missed from our golf program immensely.”

Chris tied for fourth place out of 27 golfers at the Sept. 28 Division II Cincinnati sectional – shooting a 77. Chris was a member of a record-breaking Summit golf team. At the Ohio Golf Championships at NorthStar Golf Club, Chris tied for 40th as the Summit team finished in fourth place – the best finish in school history. On route to state, the team won the Miami Valley Conference, sectional and district championships.
