Senior Regan Lawler, Anderson Township, was one of four finalists for the Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) Overture Awards.
She performed in the finalist round March 3 at the Aronoff Center’s Jarson-Kaplan Theater. As a finalist, she received a $1,000 scholarship from the CAA. The Overture Awards recognizes and encourages excellence in the arts among Greater Cincinnati students in grades 9-12. The competition is the city’s largest solo arts competition, offering awards in creative writing, dance, instrumental music, theater, visual art and vocal music. Members of the professional arts community serve as judges.
Regan and her twin, Brigid, are members of the Erickson Academy of Irish Dance.
An Irish dance exhibition around St. Patrick’s Day has become a tradition at The Summit, welcoming home Allison Erickson, a 1988 Summit alumna and Director of the Erickson Academy of Irish Dance.
This year, Regan and Brigid will perform with other Erickson Irish dancers at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16 in The Summit’s Lower School Gym.
