Four recent graduates of The Summit Country Day School were selected by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association for its Academic all-Ohio baseball team across the state.
Joe Collins, Brennan Gick, Chris Kahle and Simon Myers are on the list.
"This award recognizes what it truly means to be a student-athlete at The Summit,” coach Triffon Callos said. “These four young men achieved a high level of success in the classroom and on the diamond. This senior class was represented with high-character individuals, who took pride in their academics and that is shown with this award."
Joe, also a member of the football and bowling teams during his time at The Summit, not only excelled in the classroom, he played well on the field too. He hit at a .349 clip with 22 hits in 63 at-bats. He drove in 18 runs and stole 17 bases. Joe will attend the Catholic University of America this fall.
