The Summit inducts 41 students into National Junior Honor Society

41 Middle School students from The Summit Country Day School were inducted into the Round Table Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society on Dec. 19.

The Summit Country Day School inducted 41 members of the class of 2023 into the Round Table Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) on Dec. 19.

Representing 60 percent The Summit’s Class of 2023, each inductee must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.835 during the seventh grade and first quarter of the eighth grade and performed 18 hours of service.

As a class, they performed more than 1,050 hours of community service. 

“We learn how to live our lives by observing role models before us,” said Rich Wilson, Head of School. “The parents, teachers and coaches of these students clearly did their job well. If these students exemplify the characteristics for membership in this society during the rest of their lives, they will be leaders of character others will want to follow.”

Inductees from the Class of 2023 are: Sophia Anderson, Ella Barnes, Maria Bishop, Mia Booth, Millie Browner, Ali Burns, Trey Butler, Katie Conway, Katie Crowther, Shannon Dennemann, Megan Ebken, Savannah Eveslage, Alaina Fisher, Lavina Grzymajlo, Maya Hajjar, Gwen Hellmann, James Hinton, Jack Hollenbeck, Rimel Kamran, Ryan Kenter, Wali Khan, Gloria Knight, Jed Koenig, Zaiyi "Derek" Kuang, Chloe Lane, Owen McEachern, T.J. McGrath, Patrick McHugh, William McLane, Nolan Miller, Riley Nelson, Camille Nicholson, Sam Parker, Jack Robinson, PJ Schaaf, Tommy Schaefer, Ryan Schnitter , Madison Sievering, Nicholas Stanis, Yiheng "Ethan" Wu and Drew Zins.

These students hail from Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky neighborhoods.      
 
Middle school math teacher Carolyn Varick is the advisor for the Round Table Chapter of NJHS.
