SCDS honors students’ achievement during 2018-19 first semester

On Jan. 22 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, the Upper School hosted its semester academic awards ceremony. 

“We have high-achieving students and we are celebrating the hard work that has gone into their accomplishments,” Upper School Director John Thornburg said.  

Mr. Thornburg and Assistant Upper School Director Cliff Pope recognized the two students with the highest grade point averages in each grade. 

Irene Calderon and Morgan Riley led the freshmen class while Sam Perez, Ben Perez and Grant Gerhardt hold the top grade point averages in the sophomore class. 

Tom Li and Maliah Bricking hold the highest grade point averages among juniors. Jerry Wu and Jeffery Huang led the seniors.   

In addition to honoring the top students in each class, Mr. Thornburg recognized students from each class who earned a place on the Director’s List with Honors, the top 20 percent of the class, and the Director’s List with High Honors, the top 10 percent of the class.

The juniors on the Director’s List with High Honors are Adaliene Andsager, Mount Lookout; Maliah Bricking, Sharonville; Ryan Burns, Dry Run; Pierce Kreider, East Walnut Hills; Tom Li, Mason; Maria Luiso, Indian Hill; Rebecca Smith, Hyde Park; Emily Warden, Loveland; Thomas Zhang, Columbia Township; and Jane Zhou, Mason.
