Five Summit band members earn “superior” rating at OMEA event

Five Upper School band members from The Summit Country Day School earned “superior” ratings in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Solo and Ensemble event Jan. 26 at Elder High School. 

Accompanied by Theresa Merrill, Director of Choral Music at The Summit, sophomore Tommy DiPaola, Columbia-Tusculum; sophomore Grant Gerhardt, Colerain Township; freshman Alan Liu, Mason; freshman Irene Calderon, Hyde Park; freshman CJ Replogle, Indian Hill, performed a solo for an OMEA adjudicator.  

According to the OMEA, a “superior” rating is earned with “an outstanding performance” that exemplifies “a truly musical expression.” The rating is reserved “for the truly outstanding performance.”
