Married couples filing jointly may reduce their liability by $1,500 through one $1,500 contribution to the SGO. Starting with the 2023 tax year, donations to the SGO must be made by April 15, 2024 in order to qualify for a tax credit on your 2023 Ohio return.

You can now support The Summit through the OAIS Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). The Summit has partnered with the OAIS SGO to provide tuition assistance to our students with the highest financial need. In addition to supporting the Summit community, giving to the SGO results in special tax credits for Ohio taxpayers.
Donations to the SGO must be made by April 15, 2024 in order to qualify for a tax credit on your 2023 Ohio return.
This is a unique opportunity for individual State of Ohio taxpayers to make a gift to The Summit AND reduce their Ohio tax liability dollar for dollar. In 2021, the Ohio Assembly established Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGO) which has resulted in a non-refundable tax credit of up to $750 against a taxpayer's total Ohio tax liability. The credit will be increased to a maximum of $1,500 for a married couple filing jointly.
The Summit Country Day School is a member school of OAIS (Ohio Association of Independent Schools) and has partnered with the OAIS, and its consortium of schools, as a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). Donors who give to specific schools through the OAIS SGO portal qualify for this new tax credit.
It is our hope that you will take advantage of this new legislation to generate scholarships for current and future Summit students. If you are a current donor, we ask that you consider making your gift to the SGO in addition to your current commitment. If you are a new donor, we welcome you to our culture of philanthropy. We thank you for your support of The Summit and its mission to make a Summit education accessible to all!

What PEOPLE Say ABOUT SGO GIVING
"I firmly believe that the gift of a fine education is the best investment I can make. I know the money given to The Summit through the SGO will help make a top quality education available to low income families who might not otherwise afford the cost of a Summit education." –Nancy B, past parent
"If you needed an incentive to give, this is it!" –John D, current parent
"I'm already paying taxes to the State of Ohio ... why wouldn't I want a portion of that amount to go directly to The Summit? Seems like a 'no-brainer' to me." –Emily F, employee
