Inspiration: My strong passion for science and interacting with children made teaching a natural and ideal choice for me. That sparkle of excitement in a child's eyes is the greatest reward!
I have experience teaching Environmental Science, Biology, Physical Science, Integrated Life/Earth Science and General Science. I chose to come to The Summit because I value the tremendous support from parents, colleagues and administrators, as well as small class sizes that foster a great deal of individualized attention. I also value the emphasis placed on character education; that is, the value of developing the child as a whole person.
Philosophy: I facilitate learning moments in the science classroom by presenting engaging lessons that involve my students on multiple levels, and guide them toward developing good study and organization strategies. My goal is to create successful, lifelong learners that have an appreciation for and interest in science.
Personal: Husband, Steve; two children, Carissa and Sam. I enjoy spending time outdoors, doing home improvement projects, running, reading and crafts.
