Miss Chelsea Hahn '07
Year started: 2019
Degrees: B.S., Early Childhood Education, University of Cincinnati; M.Ed., Montessori Education 3-6, Xavier University.
Experience: Previously, I was an educator for a school in the Cincinnati community. I taught 3-5 year-olds in a Montessori environment for six years.
Inspiration: It is my time with The Summit, as a student, that sparked my endeavor into the world of education. Any educator I encountered always encouraged me to be the best version of myself. I believe to have the opportunity to be part of this process is such a wonderful gift.
Philosophy: Dr. Maria Montessori and her philosophy have molded me as an educator. Children are born ready to take in and learn about the world around them. It is my job to guide them throughout the process, to create a learning environment appropriate for independent exploration and opportunities, to continue building on previous learning and to develop and inspire internal motivation and a love for learning.
Personal: Born and raised in the Cincinnati area, I graduated from Summit, and I am thrilled to be returning. My husband, Robert, and I are both excited to have our two children join The Summit community. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy adventures with my family, continuing to inspire the idea of everyday life as a wonderful educational tool. Learning is a lifelong process that is cherished. We love to travel and listen to music. We make it a goal to try to visit a new national park every summer. Our days are almost always filled with a new craft and frequent bookstore visits.
