Mrs. Amy Sterling
Year Started: 2010
Experience: 2 years in education prior to The Summit; taught English in elementary school in Nancy, France
Degrees: B.A., French, DePauw University
Inspiration: I was inspired to come to The Summit because of its dedication to the development of students in every aspect of life. After moving back from France, where I taught English for two years and was able to witness the value of beginning World Language study at the elementary school level, I was overjoyed to be able to join a school that values World Language as much as other areas of study.
Philosophy: As the world seems to become smaller every day, it is essential that students have a global education. Not only should learning a language be fun and interesting, but it should teach students about the world outside of where we live. It should provide students with a desire to learn and a respect for other cultures.
Personal: I am a Cincinnati native. I love traveling, Broadway musicals, football and baking anything sweet!
