Coronavirus (COVID-19) information
The Senior Leadership Team at The Summit is carefully monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Updates will be posted here as developments occur. Our utmost priority is the physical and emotional health of our students, faculty, staff and the broader community. Please know that our decisions are following recommendations by city, state and national health officials and are intended to minimize risk of student exposure while under our care.
Gov. Michael DeWine today extended the closure of all kindergarten through 12th grade schools in Ohio through Friday, May 1 .
Thanks to a faculty that is extremely experienced, we had the plan in operation within days of the governor's stay-at-home order. Remote learning is now in full swing and we are prepared to go on as long as needed for the health of our community.
The faculty and staff are in “full-speed-ahead” mode, as we gear up to begin teaching and learning remotely next week.
Students will not be here after the end of school today and until we reopen on Monday, April 6. During this time, administrative offices will remain open, but we will close our gyms, fields and playgrounds. Following the governor’s directive on polling places, the hallway outside Flannery Gym will be open for voting on Tuesday.
We will be communicating more about this late today. However, we have decided now not to have school on Monday, March 16.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has ordered that all schools, public and private, will be closed after Monday, March 16 through April 3.
Given the continued spread of COVID-19, we are taking additional steps operationally to lessen the risk of infection of the faculty, staff and children under our care. Read this summary of what we have planned.
While the regular flu is a more important concern at the moment, the rapid spread of Covid-19 prompts us to plan for crisis scenarios.
