Upper School Blogs
The Summit's Science Research Institute offers students an opportunity to get experience working in an authentic research laboratory. In the summer, students spent six weeks working with professional researchers. In the final class of a four-course program, students write about their research and prepare to present posters at the Science Research Institute Colloquium in January. In this blog, students reflect on their summer laboratory experiences.
Upper School social studies teacher Tracy Law '85 Ph.D. participated in the National Council for Geographic Education GeoCamp Iceland program in 2017, joining 24 other educators in a program who explored Iceland’s changing landscapes and diverse environments. In 2018, Dr. Law and Upper school science teacher Kat Sickinger accompanied 18 Summit students to explore glaciers, geothermal pools, lava fields and caves. Read student blogs about the 2018 excursion and Dr. Law's reflections in these blogs.
